Theme for Christmas 2026 and the 55th Anniversary of GKRI
Immanuel's Manger
A Praying Church and a Vessel in God’s Hands
Pastoral Message of the Central Synod Board of GKRI for Christmas 2026 and the 55th Anniversary of GKRI
Abstract
Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Praise and thanksgiving we offer to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, for His enduring love and faithfulness that have accompanied GKRI throughout 55 years of ministry. On this meaningful occasion, we celebrate Christmas 2026 as well as commemorate the 55th Anniversary of GKRI under the theme:
“IMMANUEL’S MANGER”
(A Praying Church and a Vessel in God’s Hands)
2 Corinthians 4:7
Christmas reminds us that God came to humanity in limitation and humility. Jesus Christ, Immanuel—God with us—was born not into luxury, but in a humble stable. From Bethlehem, the light of salvation began to shine upon a darkened world.
God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 4:7 affirms: “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” We are jars of clay: fragile, limited, and constantly in need of God’s grace. Yet, within us God has placed His most precious treasure—the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the light of His salvation.
As Immanuel’s Manger, GKRI is called to be a place where Christ’s presence continues to be celebrated, passed on, and revealed to the world. The manger is not merely a memorial of Jesus’ birth, but a calling for the church to remain humble, thankful, and faithful in service.
This theme emphasizes two essential callings for us:
-
A praying church, for the power of ministry does not stem from human capability, but from the presence and power of God.
-
A church that is a vessel in God’s hands, for God uses simple and fragile lives to display His glory.
At 55 years of age, GKRI is called to continually give thanks for God’s faithfulness, renew our commitment of faith, and strengthen our unity in love. May every congregant, pastor, board member, and servant of the Lord be a worthy vessel in His hands—bearing the light of Christ to families, society, the nation, and the world.
Let us celebrate Christmas with grateful hearts, renewed faith, and deepened love. May Immanuel always be with us, guiding GKRI to remain faithful in serving Him from generation to generation.
Merry Christmas 2026 and Happy 55th Anniversary to GKRI.
May the Lord Jesus bless and be with us all.
Amen.
